National Strength and Conditioning Association’s 2009 Personal Trainer of the Year
I have been in Personal Training and Health Cub management for 30 years. Though born and raised in Maine, I worked for 5 years in Boston and 15 years in New York City. While I am still a Personal Trainer and Fitness Director at Saco Sport & Fitness in Saco, ME, the past 10 years have been focused on creating a specialty in business coaching, branding, sales, and marketing of services. This expertise has created opportunities for me to present at conferences nationally and consult with companies on increasing revenues.
My wife, Heather, is the Group Exercise Director at Saco Sport & Fitness. (I love that we work together). We have two great sons Ian (11yrs) and Jackson (Jax, 8.5yrs).
A few obscure notes… while in NYC, I studied dance (jazz, ballet, modern, tap), martial arts, performed improvisational theater for 10 years and had my own improv company for 3 years. I also worked for Marvel Entertainment Group doing personal appearances as various super heroes (Spider-Man, Captain America, Silver Surfer, etc.) off and on for 8 years.

I came across your profile on LinkedIn but haven’t sprung for InMail so I went to your website and was very impressed. Your level of experience and expertise and is outstanding. I decided to contact you directly since I thought your business would be perfect for my business.
Here’s what I’m doing…I just launched a new business called SmashFit (please check us out, Smashfit.com). SmashFit is the FIRST on-line personal trainer matching website. The concept is to match you, the trainer, with your ideal client and to match the client with their ideal trainer. Both client AND trainer will get to specify their fitness preferences and make a match. BOTH get what they’re looking for. This is a one of a kind site and hasn’t been done yet. We have even caught the eye of Oxygen Magazine and have an article in the current September issue. We have also been written about on Bodybuilding.com.
The problem is we’re already starting to get attention but I don’t have enough trainers!. So…to the reason I’m writing…since I have no trainers from Maine, I’d like to invite you to join SmashFit for free.
My goal is to gather GREAT certified trainers from all over the country. As I begin to launch my national campaign, I’d like the site “full” with trainers from all over the country and with a vast array of expertise. And I thought where better to start looking than a website full of professionals.
This isn’t a “sales pitch”, just someone following their passion, just like you.
